Escape from an apostate church through knowledge of Scriptures.
Feb. 17, 2010 Ash Wednesday: Day 1 of the 40 Days Weeping for Tammuz
The evidence that the Roman Catholic Church is actually referenced in the Scriptures as the forth beast of the earth is overwhelming. Roman Catholics have historically routinely imitated the detestable practices of the first beast, Babylon. Sadly, many Christian denominations – most actually – in turn imitated the detestable practices of the Roman Catholics.
For Roman Catholics and a few other protesting variants, today is Ash Wednesday, which marks the first day of Lent. Lent is an adaptation of the Babylonian “holy season” that marks the 40 days weeping for Tammuz, which is referenced in the book of Ezekiel.
Ezekiel 8:10-18, reveals...
"And I went in and looked and saw all kinds of creeping creatures, abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Yisra’ĕl, carved all around on the walls. And facing them stood seventy men of the elders of the house of Yisra’ĕl, and in their midst stood Yaʽazanyahu son of Shaphan. Each one had a censer in his hand, and a thick cloud of incense went up. And He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Yisra’ĕl are doing in the dark, each one in the room of his idols? For they say, ‘יהוה does not see us, יהוה has forsaken the land.’ ” And He said to me, “You are to see still greater abominations which they are doing.” And He brought me to the door of the north gate of the House of יהוה, and I saw women sitting there, weeping for Tammuz. Then He said to me, “Have you seen this, O son of man? You are to see still greater abominations than these.” And He brought me into the inner court of the House of יהוה. And there, at the door of the Hĕḵal of יהוה, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men with their backs toward the Hĕḵal of יהוה and their faces toward the east, and they were bowing themselves eastward to the sun. And He said to me, “Have you seen, O son of man? Is it a small matter to the house of Yehuḏah to do the abominations which they have done here? For they have filled the land with violence, and turn back to provoke Me. And see, they are putting the branch to My nose. “Therefore I shall indeed deal in wrath. My eye shall not pardon nor would I spare. And they shall cry in My ears with a loud voice, but I shall not hear them.”
The 40 Days Weeping for Tammuz became customary after Tammuz was killed by a wild boar at 40 years of age. Each of the 40 days mark one day for each year of Tammuz’s life. Tammuz was the son of Semiramis, the widow of Nimrod, the famed mighty hunter and king of Babylon. Tammuz was regarded as a fulfillment of the prophesy regarding the child who would crush the head of the serpent; he was regarded as the messiah of his time. He was worshipped as Baal, which means Lord. This is the same “Baal” that is referred to countless times in the Scriptures.
This beastly nation, and the evil men that comprise it, are the satanically enabled power-brokers of our time. These seeds of the serpent infiltrate every level of our culture, including our churches and even the highest offices of government in the United States and the world.
Today the Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden, a devout Roman Catholic, marked the first day of the 40 Days Weeping for Tammuz by placing an ash mark on his forehead. Regardless of how Roman Catholic doctrine has attempted to obscure the origins of this abominable practice, the fact remains that this practice, just like Easter, comes straight from Babylon and is regarded as abomination by our Creator.
Do not imitate these evil men! Do not participate in these evil practices! Obey only our Creator and receive only His mark, the mark of the Lamb, by keeping His Commandments. Do not be deceived!
Deuteronomy 12:29-32 commands,
“When יהוה your Elohim does cut off from before you the nations which you go to dispossess, and you dispossess them and dwell in their land, guard yourself that you are not ensnared to follow them, after they are destroyed from before you, and that you do not inquire about their mighty ones, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their mighty ones? And let me do so too. Do not do so to יהוה your Elohim, for every abomination which יהוה hates they have done to their mighty ones, for they even burn their sons and daughters in the fire to their mighty ones. All the words I am commanding you, guard to do it – do not add to it nor take away from it."
Is this command applicable for us today? Absolutely!
Jeremiah chapter 10 is a reminder to Israel and to all of us not to immitate the gentiles, and it reads as follows.
"Hear the word which יהוה speaks to you, O house of Yisra’ĕl. Thus said יהוה, “Do not learn the way of the gentiles,1 and do not be awed by the signs of the heavens, for the gentiles are awed by them. For the prescribed customs of these peoples are worthless, for one cuts a tree from the forest, work for the hands of a craftsman with a cutting tool. They adorn it with silver and gold, they fasten it with nails and hammers so that it does not topple. They are like a rounded post, and they do not speak. They have to be carried, because they do not walk. Do not be afraid of them, for they do no evil, nor is it in them to do any good. There is none like You, O יהוה. You are great, and great is Your Name in might. Who would not fear You, O Sovereign of the nations? For this is Your due, for among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their reigns, there is none like You. They are both brutish and foolish, an instruction of worthlessness is the tree. Silver is beaten into plates; it is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the craftsman and of the hands of the smith; draped in blue and purple; all of them are the work of skilled ones. But יהוה is truly Elohim. He is the living Elohim and the everlasting Sovereign. At His wrath the earth shakes, and nations are unable to stand His displeasure. Say to them this, “The elah1 that did not make the heavens and the earth shall perish from the earth and from under these heavens.” Footnote: 1Elah - Aramaic for mighty one He has made the earth by His power, He has established the world by His wisdom, and has stretched out the heavens by His understanding. When He makes His voice heard, there is a roaring of waters in the heavens. And He makes vapours rise from the ends of the earth. The lightnings for rain He has made, and brings wind from His treasuries. Everyone is brutish in knowledge; every smith is put to shame by his idol. For his moulded image is falsehood, and there is no spirit in them. They are worthless, a work of mockery. In the time of their punishment they perish. The Portion of Yaʽaqoḇ is not like these, for He is the Maker of all, and Yisra’ĕl is the tribe of His inheritance – יהוה of hosts is His Name. Gather up your bundle from the ground, you who live under siege! For thus said יהוה, “See, at this time I am hurling out the inhabitants of the land, and shall distress them, so that they feel it. Woe to me for my breaking! My wound is grievous, but I say, “This is my sickness, and I bear it. My tent has been ravaged, and all my cords have been broken. My children have gone from me, and they are no more. There is no one to pitch my tent any more, or to set up my curtains. For the shepherds have become brutish, and they have not sought יהוה. Therefore they did not understand, and all their flock scattered. See, it has come, the voice of a report, and a great shaking out of the land of the north, to make the cities of Yehuḏah a waste, a habitation of jackals. O יהוה, I know the way of man is not in himself, it is not for man who walks to direct his own steps. O יהוה, chastise me, but with right-ruling – not in Your displeasure, lest You bring me to naught. Pour out Your wrath on the gentiles who do not know You, and on the tribes who do not call on Your Name. For they have eaten up Yaʽaqoḇ, devoured him and consumed him, and laid waste his home."
John's third epistle warns us to receive nothing from the gentiles. 3 John 4-8 reads as follows.
"I have no greater joy than to hear of my children walking in truth. Beloved ones, you are acting trustworthily in whatever you do for the brothers and for strangers, who have borne witness of your love before the assembly. If you send them forward worthily of Elohim, you shall do well, because they went out for the sake of the Name, receiving naught from the gentiles. Therefore we ought to receive such, so that we become fellow workers for the truth."
